Happenings & DCC proudly present an open-air screening of The Phantom Of The Opera accompanied by a live music score in Merrion Square.
On Saturday July 1st we are delighted to host ‘The Happenings Quartet’ made up of musicians Matthew Nolan, David Stalling, Sean Mac Elaine and Sharon Phelan who will perform their original score to Rupert Julian’s 1925 silent horror - The Phantom of the Opera.
The Phantom of the Opera stars Lon Chaney, Hollywood’s “Man of 1,000 Faces” as Erik, the horribly disfigured phantom who leads a menacing existence in the catacombs and dungeons beneath the Paris Opera House. When Erik falls in love with a beautiful prima donna, the master musician kidnaps her and holds her hostage in his lair.
Not only will this classic be re-interpreted by these fantastic musicians, but we'll have food, coffee and yummy treats available on the night from Irish Village Markets
Please be sure to wrap up warm and wear weatherproof clothing, blankets and seating is encouraged!
Gates are open from 8.30pm with the film kicking off when the sun goes down (approx 9:45pm)
